To Blog and Review a book is a logical extension to have “OurWord” on what we have read. Reading a book is akin to going on a journey. The author holds your hand, nudges you to visualize, run riot your imagination, and you are almost the character of your choice in the book.
Reviewing books is a step further when you uncocoon yourself (if that sounds correct) from the contents.
You take a few moments to reflect before you embark on a reviewing journey.
Reviewing books is easier said than done. Some authors are intense with their choice of vocabulary. Reading can be slow as you google or delve into a dictionary to find the meaning of the words that have flown above your head. The research does slow you down, but you do not want to miss the essence of sentences.
I came across the word “Faustian,” and I did not have an iota of what it meant.
Faustian is to do something or agree upon without regard to the cost or consequences.
We often do that.
Another one that piqued my interest was ” Lavabos.” All it means is a washbasin.
Can we do without Lavabos in our lives?
All the books I have reviewed have been sent to me free by the book clubs. A couple was sent by the authors.
No, I do not get paid for my services, although a book club did pay me twice.
The amount was as tiny as dust particles.
I intend to post my reviews of books as soon as I understand the blog site well.
Till then, read on.
