Have you arrived?

I have been off the radar for some days. Illness, work, and visits to shopping malls can take a toll on your energy levels.

Shopping malls, they say, are devoid of any soul. All the glitz and glitter suppress your sanity, engulf you as being incomplete. The pair of shoes the dress on the windows are screaming at you at the opportunity to achieve enlightenment if we possess them.

I was tempted too to buy a pair of shorts from a branded sportswear company. Thankfully, my inner voice amidst the din stopped me from biting the apple.

What amused me to see without stereotyping, the husbands waiting outside the shops while their partners inside are decimating the credit card balances.

Maybe not the everlasting kind of happiness, but the new possessions elevate you and you proclaim that you have arrived.

As you drive home, a hoarding of a car much bigger and trendier than yours suggests that you have not arrived yet.
