The Sunday Sunset

What is it about Sundays for working people?

Life seems normal till 3 pm Sunday afternoon.

As the evening approaches, the brain reminds us about Monday looming large. The next weekend seems centuries away. The sun sets every evening but the sunset on Sundays has a different hue about it. Some sort of melancholy creeps in. Is it because of a discernible extra orange and red colour in the sky?

It is our imagination, and we bid farewell to the sun with a touch of apprehension and anxiety.

What lies ahead in the week?

The face of the boss, that irritating colleague, and the meaningless innumerable meetings seem so daunting. We have rigmaroled ourselves over the years and survived Monday-itis.

We will continue to do so.

Thank God for its Friday,  but that Sunday evening sunset will tempt us to call in sick with Monday -itis on Monday.

Word of the day: Hue, a shade or colour.
